Introducing One of the Best Vegas Hotels for Young Adults – Virgin Hotels Las Vegas (Review)

Welcome to the all-new Virgin Hotels Las Vegas! Equal parts swanky and sexy, this new Vegas resort is worth the stay for the environment alone. If you know anything about the Virgin brand, you know that they always bring the drama with over-the-top presentation and this stand-out hotel is no exception. Keep reading for my Virgin Hotels Las Vegas review and why I believe it is one of the best Vegas hotels for young adults.

Why Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is One of the Best Vegas Hotels for Young Adults

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton — a brand that I know and love for its great design & hospitality. The resort can be found right off the strip where the old Hard Rock Hotel & Casino once was. Though it may be in the same location, the hotel itself has been renovated to the point where it is almost unrecognizable. The Virgin Hotel offers amenities such as 3 pools, a 24-hour fitness center, over 10 dining/drinking options, a spa, and a beach club.

BEST VEGAS HOTELS FOR YOUNG ADULTS

The property aesthetic is one that is completely new to the Vegas scene and designed in a perfectly contemporary manner. No far-off destination-themed hotel here; instead, Virgin stays true to its surroundings with elements of the natural desert landscape presented in an artful way, combined with the quirky vintage-inspired decor that is reminiscent of Virgin’s other products. Of course, the hotel is wouldn’t be complete with hints of their iconic red branding color, too. Throughout the ground floor of the property, you’ll find cacti, colorful crystal geodes, and shapes and textures that will remind you of the 70s. Modern chandeliers and small gold accents add a touch of luxury and nicely complement the sleek natural white-washed wood structures. In short, this hotel drips with millennial-inspired glory in the best ways possible. An Instagrammable moment seemingly awaits at every corner.

One of the most remarkable aspects about Virgin Hotels Las Vegas however, is that they do not charge resort fees and offer free on-site self parking. These two offerings are a huge selling point for a hotel as nice as this in Las Vegas.

High-Tech and Ultra-Modern Rooms & Some of the Best Suites in Las Vegas

My suite in the Ruby Tower was spacious, functional, and ultra-modern. Tech amenities on the TV screen and through the virtual assistant app made just about anything a traveler like me needs directly at my fingertips. With a click of a button, I was able to request a toothbrush and other bonus toiletries not typically found in the room without ever picking up the phone and dialing the staff. Moments later, a hotel staff member made a contactless drop-off at my door, which in times like these was very much appreciated.

Other well-thought-out room offerings included a designated makeup vanity in a pathway secluded by a door for extra privacy, a bed that functioned as a lounge seat at its foot for reading or relaxing, QR codes for in-room dining and the mini bar, and in-room yoga and fitness workout videos on the TV.

The room itself can easily be defined as equal parts functional and fashionable. The bathroom was spacious, the bathtub deep and luxurious, and the shower was plenty large. The room was split into separate areas for sleeping, lounging, and even window-front dining. To top things off, a perfect aerial view of the palm-tree-lush beach club below is perfect for enjoying the action from above, with a lovely view of the strip not too far off in the distance. The layout and design of the room make it one of the best suites in Vegas especially for groups.

Dining at One of the Most Unique Hotels in Vegas

Though the size of the property is not huge, there are surprisingly many options for dining and snacking, and they have all been perfectly curated. Let’s go over a few of my favorites:

Nobu: Whenever there is a Nobu around, I automatically think luxury. From the Nobu Malibu I grew up going to in Los Angeles, to staying at the Nobu Hotel in Cabo, and dining at the Cape Town location in South Africa, Nobu is hands-down one of the trendiest sushi restaurants worldwide — so naturally, having one at Virgin just makes sense. They have all the favorite classics at this location such as the spicy tuna crispy rice and miso black cod, along with some specials that are exclusive to Vegas. There is also an omakase (mutli-course chef’s choice) experience that ranges from $100 – $300 a person and is a great way to start the night.

Night+Market: Arriving as an offshoot of the original location in Los Angeles, Night+Market is known as one of LA’s best Thai restaurants. Their specialty is Nothern Thai cuisine, but have all the favorites, too. The Vegas location, much like LA, is hip and casual with great food and drinks.

Kassi Kitchen: Another hint of LA, Kassi Beach House is owned and operated by the same team behind Kassi Club and Elephanté, two very highly-regarded restaurants in the LA area. The vibe and food at Kassi Beach House are both very chic Mediterranean with the light and airy coastal decor to match.

Casa Calavera: Opened by the famous Hakkasan Hospitality Group, this restaurant took me by surprise (although it probably shouldn’t have, knowing the Hakkasan reputation.) This may just be one of the best Mexican restaurants in Vegas! Their outdoor patio offers a toes-in-the-sand dining experience right outside the beach club, where I imagine would get quite lively during a pool party.

Afters Ice Cream: Virgin is lucky to have one of the best ice cream parlors in the country, and so are the hotel guests when the sweet tooth hits! Their uniquely indulgent and Instagram-worthy treats are just what you need for those late-night cravings, with unique flavors like milk and cereal and Jasmine milk tea stuffed inside glazed sticky buns that are sure to please both the eye and tastebuds.

Other dining options include One Steakhouse, Pizza Forte, (the 24-hour) Kitchen at Commons Club, Todd English’s Olives, Funny Library Coffee shop, and a Dunkin Donuts. There really seems to be something for everyone here. The variety of restaurants are so well-thought-out, and although a few of these can be found in my hometown of LA, they each still feel different and distinctly Vegas.

Entertainment: Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Might Just be One of the Best Party Hotels in Vegas

If you’re specifically looking for Las Vegas hotels with nightclubs and bars, Virgin has you covered. With plenty to eat, do, dance at, and drink, you may never need to leave the property to have a good time. Here are some of the Virgin’s most happening highlights.

Bars, Clubs, Lounges

Virgin offers several different entertainment venues on property ranging from a 4,500-person live music theater to the Shag Room at Commons Club, a rather groovy and intimate lounge with a live band and great cocktails. You’ll also find several other areas to drink and jive including 24 Oxford, a nod at Virgin Records that highlights cutting-edge musicians of all genres; a sports betting lounge called Money, Baby!; and an outdoor events lawn.

Élia Beach Club

There are 3 pools found about the resort at Virgin, however of the most remarkable is Élia Beach Club. This multi-level outdoor pool complex was designed with influences of Mykonos and other trendy vacation destinations such as Tulum and Miami. House music is primarily what you’ll find here, with internationally-known DJs to set the perfect tone. The vibe is unlike any other on or off the strip, and this beach club alone is what in my opinion makes Virgin one of the best party hotels in Vegas.
