The Top 5 Must-Visit Bali Infinity Pools and Best Beach Clubs in Bali, Indonesia

Bali, Indonesia is quite possibly one of my favorite places on earth. Warm-water beaches, lush jungles, and sprawling rice paddies adorn the island and give it its inviting charm. Whether you are visiting Bali to relax, adventure, or something in between, you are bound to come across one of the amazing Bali infinity pools. Surely there are Bali villas with private pools and Most resorts in Bali contain beautiful pools for their guests, however they are not always open to the public or are best suited for families and honeymooners. Luckily in Bali, from the beaches of Seminyak to the jungles of Ubud, many restaurants and adult-only beach lounges offer attractive swimming pools with swim-up bars to escape the humid mid-day heat. The following are the must-see Bali pools found at the best beach clubs in Bali, Indonesia.

5. Potato Head Beach Club, Seminyak: One of the all-time best clubs in Seminyak and Best Beach Clubs in Bali

best beach clubs in Bali

With three bars, three restaurants, and an infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, Potato Head is one of the most popular spots in Bali, and for good reason. They are open from breakfast until late into night/early morning hours, and have a commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community, which is always a plus. The food features a mix of local and world cuisine and is always raved about; and the cocktails are some of the most innovative I’ve ever seen, served in unique vessels such as directly from a giant conch, or a teapot steaming with dry ice.

The prices for food and drinks are on the reasonable side for a beach club, and there is usually no cover to get in unless there is a special event taking place. There are daybeds offered both by the pool and on the beach with a minimum spend (about $40 and $70 USD respectively), but it is recommended to arrive early in the morning to secure one. The service and staff are also all around fantastic and very attentive, so you can truly sit back and enjoy your day. The atmosphere at Potato Head can be described as lively, and at night, the beach club comes to life with live music featuring large, internationally-known bands and DJs, as well as local talent. Potato Head is a popular Bali nightlife for singles venue, where masses of young adults populate this beach bar at all hours of the day and night during high season. Potato Head Beach Club is an ideal spot to arrive during the late afternoon for a dip in the pool, stay for a breath-taking sunset dinner, and then finish off the evening to dance the night away.

Best for: day club to night club, innovative cocktails, music

4. Ku De Ta, Seminyak: One of the Best Restaurants in Seminyak and Best Bars in Seminyak

best restaurants in seminyak

Ku De Ta in Seminyak is a fine dining restaurant, lounge, and beach club all rolled into one. Their infinity pool is perfectly situated for taking in ocean views while sipping on one of their impressive cocktails. With a sleek and stylish design and an upper deck overlooking the ocean, Ku De Ta is the best place to catch the sunset in Seminyak. While the pool and space at Ku De Ta is on the smaller side, the atmosphere makes up for it in large ways. The vibe at Ku De Ta feels slightly more upscale and sophisticated, and is definitely the chicest of beach clubs in Seminyak. Options for more casual dining range from tapas to pizza at the eateries downstairs, while the fine dining restaurant Mejakawi upstairs serves upscale seasonal food paired with impeccable service.

The prices are definitely reflected by the ambiance at Ku De Ta, coming in slightly more expensive than other Beach Bars in the area but it is worth every penny (or Indonesian Rupiah.) That said, there is no minimum spend for day beds during low season but you you do have to arrive early to secure one. Beach and pool aside, Ku De Ta is considered one of the best dining options in Seminyak and the atmosphere is one to be experienced. If you want to impress a date or chill out with a group of friends, this is the place to be. Arrive just in time for sunset and be prepared to be wowed by the views while sipping poolside, before enjoying one of the best meals you’ll have in Bali.

Best for: food, sunset, couples

2. Wanna Jungle Pool & Bar, Ubud: All-Time Best Infinity Pool Ubud and All-Time Best Pools in Bali

infinity pool ubud

No list of best pools in Bali would be complete without including the most amazing Ubud infinity pool. Although this one is not on the beach but rather deep in the jungle, Ubud is one of the top destinations to visit in Bali (thanks to the movie Eat, Pray, Love) and therefore absolutely must be included in this list.  There are several jungle and pool bars in Ubud to choose from, but there are a few standout reasons why Wanna Jungle is the best.

bali infinity pools.JPG

Overlooking the rice terraces in the lush tropical valley is the 3-level infinity pool of Wanna Jungle, the most magnificent Bali / Ubud infinity pool. Located about a 30-minute drive from Ubud center, within the fairly new (August 2018) Kayun Resort, Wanna Jungle is a must-visit when traveling to Ubud and is one of the most aw-inspiring pools in the area, and in all of Bali. Wanna Jungle is not a typical pool party bar like many of the others but rather a peaceful oasis to relax and recharge amidst the beautiful surroundings. Day passes are available for purchase to non-hotel guests at various price points depending on what type of seating and food/beverage amount you prefer. Packages start at the reasonable rate of 200 RP (about $14 USD) which includes a drink and snacks. A full menu of Indonesian, Asian, and Western foods are available for order, in addition to the full bar that also offers non-alcoholic beverages such as fresh fruit smoothies and wellness tonics. Out of all the pool bars in Bali, Wanna Jungle is definitely one of the most Instagrammable, and will transport you to that idyllic Bali setting you have always dreamed of visiting. It might just be my favorite Bali infinity pool!

Best for: scenery, relaxation, Instagram

1. Omnia, Uluwatu: Best Uluwatu Beach Club and Best Beach Club in Bali

best beach club in bali

UPDATE: OMNIA BEACH CLUB IS NOW SAVAYA BALI — (INFORMATION BELOW MAY NOT BE ACCURATE. SEE SAVAYA WEBSITE FOR DETAILS.)

Suspended on a cliff over the ocean, Omnia is the most posh pool bar and beach club in Bali. Omnia is internationally known for their impressive venues, and this day club is no exception. Rather than built on the sand like traditional beach clubs, Hovering high above the waves of the Indian Ocean, Omnia gives that true sensation of infinity pools. Bali Omnia regularly hosts top international DJs who play dance music both during the day and into the closing time of 10:30PM, providing for a fun and lively, yet contained atmosphere. Entrance to Omnia costs 200k IDR (~$14.00 USD) unless a special ticketed or guest-list only event is taking place, and unlike most other beach clubs in Bali,  Omnia is strictly 21+.

Pool options range from an infinity pool with a swim-up bar and unobstructed views of the ocean, a private pool for VIP cabanas, and private plunge pools that come with the  premium VIP bungalows. Day beds and cabanas are of the priciest of selections in Bali, starting at a minimum spend of around 2 million IDR (~$100.00 USD), but is used toward food and beverage. The food at Omnia is equally as impressive as the venue itself, where contemporary Japanese cuisine is severed at the restaurant on site, Sake No Hana. Sushi and sashimi is made to order and also offered pool side, in addition to Western favorites such as nachos, wings, and potato wedges. The standard at Omnia is set high, and offers an unparalleled experience to other beach clubs in Bali. Omnia is truly best experienced in person, but to give you an idea of why it is the best beach/day club in Bali, watch my drone video below.

  1. Everyone talks about Bali and it’s just about hard to get away from online! Your photos are breathtaking and it’s so hard to not be envious of everyone’s trips. Thanks for sharing these – I can totally see myself going down the list and experiencing them all when the time comes.

    1. Bali is truly a magical place and popular for good reason. It’s one of those types of places you have to experience for yourself to understand the hype. I hope you get to go soon! It’s one of my favorites. ❤️

  2. i’m indonesian who ironically has never been to bali. however, i’m planning to go there in june with my boyfriend for the first time. i’m glad that i came across your posts as i’d be the one creating the itinerary for our next trip. and one of them would be where to go for a drink or dinner. we’re planning to stay in seminyak for a couple of days, and maybe we need to start looking for an accommodation close to ku de ta. thanks a lot for your recommendation! 🙂

    1. Awww I’m glad you are finally visiting Bali! It’s definitely one of my favorite places. In Seminyak we stayed at a hotel called Tajili. You might wanna check them out — not too far from Ku De Ta! Wishing you happy and safe travels!
